Beer Box Cary started with a simple moment of curiosity.
Our founder, Srikanth Yerra, wasn’t always a “beer person.” Like many people, he would occasionally enjoy a light beer, usually from a bottle or can, during a special dinner or night out. That was his normal.
But one day, something changed.
While visiting a bar, he decided to try the same beer he had always known, this time on draft. The difference was immediate. It tasted fresher, smoother, and just… better. That single experience sparked a curiosity that turned into a passion.
From there, he began exploring.
Living in the Triangle area, he started visiting local breweries, one after another, discovering new styles, flavors, and the craftsmanship behind every pour. At one point, he had visited nearly all the breweries in the area, tasting and learning along the way.
Wanting to go deeper, he enrolled at Wake Tech to study brewing and understand the science and history behind beer. What started as curiosity grew into something bigger, a vision of one day becoming part of the craft beer world.
Before jumping fully into brewing, he made a strategic decision: start by creating a space to connect with people, understand tastes, and bring great drinks together in one place.
That’s how Beer Box Cary was born.
